Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) announced on Friday that petroleum pump prices for diesel and petrol in Rwanda had reached record-high levels despite government subsidies to cushion consumers. The new pump prices, which become effective from June 10 to July 31, indicate that the maximum retail price for gasoline increased to 1,460 Rwandan francs (about $1.40) per litre and diesel increased to 1,503 Rwandan francs per litre, said RURA in the statement. “Fuel pump prices have been revised based on adjustments in the international market,” said the statement. Turkish industrial group Eczacibasi on Friday confirmed that a helicopter with seven people on board, including four Turkish citizens had gone missing in northern Italy. The Turkish foreign ministry also confirmed the incident, noting the search and rescue efforts for the helicopter continued. An Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun on Friday sentenced a 30-year old woman, Adekunle Hanna, to six months in prison for stealing clothes, shoes and other valuables valued at N700,000. The Police charged Hanna, whose address was not provided, with stealing. The convict had pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against her. In her ruling, Magistrate A.O.
