Rivers state governor, Nyeson Wike has said that it is laughable for President Muhammadu Buhari to have signed the 2022 budget that he alleged to be padded by the National Assembly with new schemes worth N37 billion but failed to sign the electoral act amendment bill. The Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) says world total oil demand in 2021 is pegged at 96.5 million barrel per day (mb/d) and at 100.6 mb/d in 2022, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. OPEC made the appointment at a Special Meeting on Monday held via video conference, which was chaired by president Jean-Richard Itoua, Congo’s Minister of Hydrocarbons and Head of its Delegation. Six persons died while 12 sustained injuries on Monday in an accident involving a Mistubishi canter and a Mazda bus, around Lala/Kere area of the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway. Mr Ahmed Umar, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the incident in Abeokuta. The O’odua Peoples Congress (OPC) has dissociated itself from a coalition of 57 Yoruba groups allegedly rooting for South-West pro-restructuring presidential candidate in 2023. Nigerian government says its plan to attain 95 per cent digital literacy by 2030 is on course. Kashufu Abdullahi, the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), made this known on Sunday at the graduation ceremony of 50 children, including 10 Almajiri children at the Engausa Global Tech Hub in Kano.
