Sokoto state governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has requested the state House of Assembly to approve the reappointment of six commissioners. The former commissioners are Aminu Bala Bodinga, Garba Moyi, Bashir Gidado, Salihu Maidaji, Abdullahi Maigwandu and Abubakar Maikudi Ahmad. He also sent names of three persons to be appointed as new commissioners. They are Bashir Mohammed Lambara, Abubakar Dange and Abdullahi Yusuf Hausawa. Chinese oil imports from Russia surged in May as Moscow sought new customers amid Western sanctions on many of its products because of its ongoing invasion of Ukraine. According to Chinese customs data on Monday, Russian oil imports increased 55 per cent year-on-year in May, to about 8.4 million tonneau.
