A joint operation by the troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) of Nigeria, Niger and Cameroon, has eliminated scores of ISWAP terrorists in Malam Fatori, Damasak and Wulgo in the Lake Chad axis. The contingent of the joint troops confronted the terrorists at different locations in the military offensives. Apart from the ground troops that were on the offensives, air components also deployed attack aircraft in the elimination of the terrorists, destruction of their hideouts and guntrucks. United Kingdom group, IA-Foundation has again expressed its concern over the continued holding of more than 100 Chibok school girls, eight years after about 270 of the girls were abducted. The girls were abducted on April 14, 2014 at Chibok community in northeast Nigeria, in a depressing incident that elicited spontaneous condemnation by the international community. The United States government has approved Nigeria’s acquisition of AH-1Z attack helicopter and related equipment from the country. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), under the Department of Defense, has delivered the certification, notifying Congress of the $1 billion deal. The items requested by Nigeria include 12 AH-1Z Attack Helicopters, 28 T-700 GE 401C engines (24 installed, 4 spares), and 2,000 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) guidance sections. Nigeria’s Council of State has approved April 2023 for the conduct of National Population Census. The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has received the Full Business Case certificates (FBCs) for the concession of e-ticketing for the Lagos/Ibadan and Warri/Itakpe rail services. The projects are expected to generate about N140 billion as well as  create 3,000 jobs in 10 years.
