FBN Holdings Plc has announced its unaudited results for the half year ended June 30, 2022 with gross earnings of N359.2 billion. The company stated this in a statement on Friday in Lagos. The gross earnings indicated an increase of 22.4 per cent when compared with N293.4 billion recorded in the preceding period of 2021. It also recorded a profit before tax of N65.7 billion from N45.2 billion achieved in the corresponding period of 2021, an increase of 45.3 per cent. Niger state governor, Abubakar Bello has suspended the chairman, Niger State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Isah Adamu over anomalies in the operations of the board. The suspension is contained in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Ahmed Matane. “The suspension was necessitated by some observed anomalies in the operations of the board,” Matane noted. The government also directed Adamu to hand over the affairs of the board to the Permanent Member III on the board to enable full review of its operations for optimal growth.

The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 37 suspected drug users and dealers and seized 820 ampoules of pentazocine injections in Katsina state. The NDLEA Commander in the state, Mr Mohammed Bashir told newsmen on Friday in Katsina that the suspects were arrested within a 24-hour operation. He explained that five of the 37 arrested were suspected drug dealers, while 32 were drug users, including a woman and a cripple.
