Mr Krishanu Chakravarty, Chief of Party, TechnoServe of Prosper Cashew, has said Nigerian cashew sector has the capacity of making $1.2 billion between 2025 to 2030. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD), Dr Mohammad Abubakar on Thursday, said the agriculture sector contributed 23 per cent to the nation’s Gross Domestic Products (GDP) in first half of 2022.   Abubakar stated this in his keynote address at the opening ceremony of the 45th Regular Meeting of the National Council on Agriculture and Rural Development (NCARD) in Jos. A Family Court sitting at Iyaganku, Ibadan on Thursday, remanded a 31-year-old commercial motorcyclist, Michael Ayanlowo, at Abolongo Correctional Facility for allegedly defiling a 15- year-old girl. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Patricia Adetuyibi, who did not take the plea of Ayanlowo, ordered that the case file should be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice. A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Thursday, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to accept and publish Godswill Akpabio’s name as the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the 2023 Akwa Ibom North/West Senatorial District election.
