The Lassa fever cases in Nigeria have jumped to 857 and 164 people dead so far from the disease in the first seven months of 2022. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said this in its latest Lassa fever situation report for week 29, which showed that there were 857 confirmed cases of the disease in the country. The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Person (NAPTIP) has rescued no fewer than 615 victims of human trafficking in Katsina State from January 2022 to date. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Saturday received another batch of 140 Nigerians stranded from Agadaz, Niger Republic. The Kwara state government has received an interim report on the verification of pensioners in the state.
