The Lagos State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service ( NCoS ) on Sunday said it had no fewer than 353 inmates currently on death row at its Kirikiri Custodial Centre. The spokesman of the command, Mr Rotimi Oladokun, confirmed the number in an interview in Lagos. According to him, about 210 inmates are also serving life jail terms. He explained that there were five custodial centres in Lagos namely, Ikoyi, Badagry, Kirikiri Female, Kirikiri Medium and Kirikiri Maximum. Terrorists have forced eight villages in Augie local government area of Kebbi have been deserted due to attacks by bandits. The vilages are Zagi, Tungar Rafi, Tungar Tudu, Keke, Kwaido, Sabongarin Kwaido, Tungar Chichira and Tattazai. The General Manager, Bayelsa State Broadcasting Corporation, Mr Terrence Ekise says efforts are underway to renew the operational licenses of the station. Sokoto State Police Command has charged a college graduating student to court for allegedly crushing a female colleague of Khalifa International Model School, Sokoto, with a car while jubilating.
