Aviation workers at the Ibadan Airport on Monday joined their counterparts across the country to protest against inclusion of what they described as anti-labour clauses in the new Aviation Bills. The workers are staff members of the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN) and National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE). The protesters, who in their scores, armed with placards of various inscriptions, were seen chanting solidarity songs round the airport premises. The President of the Appeal Court, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem on Monday said the court received 6, 017 appeals from 20 divisions in the 2021/2022 legal year. Dongban-Mensem said this at an event marking the beginning of the 2022/2023 legal year in Abuja. She said also, that 13,896 motions were filed out of which 8,018 were disposed of. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said it would no longer conduct mop-up examination for candidates of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) who are not bio-metrically verified. The Kaduna state command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested 761 suspected drug traffickers and users and seized 11,000kg of illicit drugs in the first eight months of the year. Its commander, Mr Umar Adoro said on Monday in Kaduna that 725 of those arrested are male while the 36 others are female.
