Four people were sentenced to death on Wednesday by Iran’s judiciary for allegedly cooperating with Israel’s intelligence organisation and committing kidnappings. The semi-official Mehr news agency reported that three other people were handed prison sentences between five to ten years for allegedly committing other crimes. Kebbi state governor, Atiku Bagudu has approved the release of N30 million for the state contingent participating in the National Sports Festival. The state has a total of 115 athletes and officials participating in 10 events at the festival holding from November 28 to December 10 in Asaba, Delta. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the EU health agency on Wednesday reported that many people are living with HIV in Europe without being diagnosed. The WHO Regional Office for Europe in a press release ahead of December 1, which marked World AIDS Day, said the stigma still surrounding the virus that caused AIDS was to blame. The University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) Chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Tuesday protested the pro-rata October salary payment and nonpayment of 8-month salaries owed by Federal Government. The Police Command in Cross River has confirmed the arrest of a woman who allegedly beheaded her 11 months child in Yonen community of Ugep, Yakurr local government area of the state. The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele says a total of $4.987 billion has been repatriated into the country by non-oil exporters in 2022, under the Race to US$200 billion in Foreign Exchange (FX) Repatriation (RT200) programme launched in February 2022 by the apex bank in collaboration with the Bankers’ Committee.
