The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has announced the intention of the United States government, subject to Congressional approval, to grant US$20 million to the World Food Programme (WFP), to purchase wheat for the people of Sudan which will help to alleviate the shortage of the cereal grain in the country. The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) says Thursday’s fire incident at OVH Energy tank farm at Marine Beach, Ijora area of Lagos State has been brought under control. The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the deployment of legitimate force to protect lives and property of citizens, including police officers. A tanker loaded with 45,000 litres of petrol exploded on Saturday at World Oil Filling Station after Kara Bridge along Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, claiming two lives and destroying 23 vehicles. Dangote Cement Plc on Saturday posted a revenue of N761.4 billion in nine months ending September 30, 2020, indicating a 12 percent increase over revenues for the corresponding period in 2019, according to a statement by Mr Michel Puchercos, Group Chief Executive Officer, Dangote cement. Lagos state government says it has confirmed more positive COVID-19 cases in another secondary boarding school in the state.
