Bandits Tuesday night, stormed Tungar Kwana village in Talata-Mafara local government area of Zamfara, and killed 22 people. Daily Tracker gathered that the bandits numbering over 100, invaded the village around 11 pm where they began to shoot people sporadically. An indigene of the village, Malam Ahmed Mohammed, who narrated what happened, said 22 people including children and women, were killed instantly, while other people escaped to the forest. As the curfew imposed by Osun state government enters day two, business activities in Osogbo, the state capital, remained halted on Thursday. Banks, government offices, markets and stores remained closed as civil servants and business owners stayed at home in compliance with the curfew. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, has called on the Nigerian authorities to take urgent steps in dealing with the underlying problem of violations committed by the security forces. Thirty-seven new Coronavirus infections have been reported across Nigeria with no COVID-19-related deaths in eight states and the Federal Capital Territory. The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its official website on Wednesday.
