President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed former Military Administrator of Lagos state, Brig.-Gen. Muhammed Buba Marwa (rtd), as the new Director General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA. Marwa was, until his appointment, the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Drug Abuse. The appointment to replace Muhammad Abdullah was conveyed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha.

Twelve staff of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Edo Command, were on Saturday given cheques of N3 million to support their treatment for injuries sustained during the #EndSARS protest. A United Nations peacekeeper has died in northern Mali after his vehicle struck a mine, the UN Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) said on Saturday in a statement. The peacekeeping mission’s tanker truck, which was part of a logistics convoy, drove over the mine near the town of Tessalit in the Kidal region, on Friday, the MINUSMA Head, Mahamat Saleh Annadif, said.
