The African Development Bank (AfDB) is providing a US$965,000 grant to Morocco’s Super Energy Service Company to support the firm’s growth plans. The Bank said the deal was sealed on Tuesday. The grant will provide Société d’Ingénierie Energétique (SIE) with operational tools to develop a pipeline of bankable energy efficient investment projects, said Brice Mikpomhpoue, Officer in Charge at the North Africa Regional Development and Business Delivery Office of the AfDB. Niger governor, Abubakar Sani-Bello has directed the immediate closure of boarding schools in four local government areas in the state. The Governor stated this in a state broadcast at the Government House following the abduction of 27 students of Government Science College Kagara and some staff and members of their families. Total U.S. oil output has contracted by a record one-third, or 3.5 million barrels per day and more, as anomalous low temperatures caused disruptions to well operations in Texas, the country’s largest oil-producing region, according to a watchdog. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 16 deaths and 1,368 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 148,296. The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Tuesday. The new infections registered today doubled  the 574 cases reported as at Feb. 15.
