A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, refused to grant Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, former Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), bail on alleged fraud preferred against him by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). Justice Obiora Egwuatu declined the oral application for bail by counsel to the defendant, P.O  Olorunishola, SAN, after the ICPC lawyer, Ebenezer Shogunle, opposed the submission. The former chief executive officer of JAMB is the sole defendant in the suit marked: CR/97/21 bordering on alleged misappropriation of about N900 million.

The first batch contingent of Team Nigeria will on Tuesday depart Abuja for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Iwo, OlaOluwa and Obokun local government areas of Osun, on Monday protested against the list of council caretaker nominees submitted to the the state House of Assembly. Facebook and Reuters have expressed their readiness to launch a free online training programme for journalists, called the Reuters Digital Journalism courses. Facebook in a statement on Monday, said it would work with publishers around the world to strengthen the connection between journalists and the communities they serve. It said the programme would also partner with publishers and non-profit organisations to combat misinformation, promote news literacy and improve journalism profession. The Lagos House of Assembly on Monday passed an amended version of the Criminal Justice Law of the state, to bar the police from parading suspects before the media, henceforth. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has disclosed that the second Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2021) has been rescheduled to take place in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa from November 15 to 21. He said this in a statement issued on Monday by African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank). Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno on Monday in Damasak, headquarters of Mobbar local government area directed the profiling of 3,000 families to be provided with packages of agricultural inputs. The inputs to be provided to the farmers include improved seeds, fertilizer, water pumps and chemicals, to enable them safely return to their farms, arranged to be secured by Nigerian military.
