She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Lagos and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987. She is married to Hon. Nimi Walson-Jack, a former General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association and Nigeria’s leading Civic Educator. They have two children, both of whom became lawyers.

The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has suspended former Attorney General of Abia State, Uche Ihediwa, from using the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) pending the outcome of investigations against him. A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, has restored Phillip Shuaibu as the Deputy Governor of Edo State. Justice James Omotoso, on Wednesday, set aside Shaibu’s impeachment by the State House of Assembly. Justice Omotoso, in his judgement held that Shuaibu’s impeachment and subsequent removal from office violated the provisions of the law.
