The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, has inaugurated a Ministerial Committee on herbal remedies and natural compounds towards developing a homegrown treatment for COVID-19 pandemic. The committee has eminent scientists and Fellows of the Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS) as members. President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed four new Permanent Secretaries into the Federal Civil Service. Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF), made this known in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, by Mrs Olawunmi Ogunmosunle, Director Information, office of the HOCSF. Those appointed are Mr Sule James from Kaduna, Mr Abubakar Ismaila from Kebbi, Mrs Patricia Roberts from Rivers and Mr Shehu Shinkafi from Zamfara State. Troops of Operation Sahel Sanity have rescued 31 kidnapped victims, arrested 29 bandits and their collaborators and eliminated one in continued offensives against bandits in the North West region. The Niger  Delta Power Holding Company, NDPHC, says it plans to add 125MW of electricity to the national grid to boost power supply in the country.
