As the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, continues to release results from local government areas, Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is currently leading in 15 local governments so far. The governor so far has 80,207 votes difference against the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu. Of the results officially announced by the electoral umpire from the 15 local government areas, Ize-Iyamu has recorded 194,166 votes, while Obaseki has recorded 247,373 votes. The Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris, has died at the age of 84. A source in Zaria, Ibrahim Shehu told Ashenewsonline the Emir died at 44 Reference Hospital in Kaduna on Sunday. “It is true the Emir is dead. We are waiting for his corpse to be brought for burial,” Shehu said. Details later…
A 35-year old Ms Blessing Emmanuel, has delivered a male baby under the Ajah bridge in Lagos. According to the Lagos State Emergency Managment Agency, LASEMA, its ambulance team at Eti-osa delivered Ms Emmanuel of the baby. The Director General of LASEMA Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, told newsmen on Saturday that the baby was delivered at about 4:30 p.m under the Ajah Bridge. “The lady, who has no home nor family in Lagos, is from Cross River State. “Mother and baby are fine and have been taken to Island Maternity where they will get expert care,” Oke-Osanyintolu said.
