The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in Kano State, has confirmed nine persons killed and three others injured in a ghastly motor accident on Kano-Zaria Road. Mr Zubairu Mato, the Corps Commander, confirmed the incident in a statement issued in Kano on Tuesday. Mato disclosed that the accident occurred when two vehicles collided at Imawa village in Kura Local Government Area of the state. He said that the accident occurred at about 9:00 a.m. on Monday involving an articulated vehicle, a car and a tricycle. The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, says Lagos State recorded the highest Internally Generated Revenue. IGR, of N204.51 billion in the first half of 2020. The NBS made this known in its Internally Generated Revenue at State Level (H1 2020) report made available on its website on Tuesday. It said the second state with the next highest IGR was Rivers with N64.59 billion, while Jigawa recorded the least IGR with N3 billion. Kaduna state governor, Malam Nasiru El-Rufai on Tuesday presented a 2021 budget proposal of N237.52 billion to the state House of Assembly. El-rufai said the sum of N124 billion, which is almost 79 percent of the capital budget of N157.56bn is allocated to the Economic and Social sectors. The governor said that the huge allocation was to preserve investment levels in Education and Health, while continuing with the government urban renewal programmes. Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun has approved the release of the sum of N708 million to offset pension arrears of retired civil servants in the state. The state Head of Service, Mr Festus Olowogboyega, said in a statement on Tuesday in Osogbo that N508 million was approved for the payment of pension of retired civil servants, while N150 million was approved to pay retirees under the contributory pension scheme.
