The Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Dingyadi, has pledged to ensure  a comprehensive investigation into allegations of infractions against personnel of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 120 new coronavirus (COVID-19) infections in the country. NCDC’s announcement of the new infections on its official twitter handle late on Monday takes the total number of infections in the country to 59, 465. According to the agency, no death has been recorded for the second consecutive day. This keeps the COVID-19 death toll at 1,113 in the country. Israel launched an airstrike on a Hamas target in Gaza late on Monday, following a rocket attack from the Palestinian enclave, the Israeli army said. There were no immediate reports of any injuries or damage. The Israeli Defence Forces said a rocket was fired from Gaza into southern Israel earlier on Monday evening. According to local media it landed in an open field and caused an alarm to be sounded in the nearby kibbutz Kerem Shalom. A middle-aged man, identified as Habibullahi Aminullahi committed suicide in Ganmo community, near Ilorin in Kwara on Monday. Aminullahi, a grinding machine operator, reportedly hung himself in his shop at Ajase-Ipo Road in Ilorin. A source said that the deceased had on Oct. 4, summoned a meeting with his friends to complain over a N200, 000 debt, accruing from a daily contribution he was coordinating.
