The Sokoto State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, says 36 people have died and 470 others displaced from their homes as a result of floods following heavy rainfalls in various parts of Sokoto state from January to date. The Director Relief and Orientation of the agency, Mr Mustapha Umar disclosed this at a stakeholders meeting on disaster management on Thursday in Sokoto. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, says it has intercepted 179.090 kilograms of various hard drugs in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) within the first week of October. The NDLEA, FCT Commander, Mr Lawan Hamisu, told news men in Abuja that the seizure was excluding the liquid based drugs such as Codeine.
