The United Nation Children’s Fund (UNICEF) says it would double efforts in improving the lives of children in communities affected by insecurity in the Northwest part of the country. The FCT Administration has issued a seven-day ultimatum to banks and other business organisations operating in Maitama area, Abuja to vacate and relocate to the Central Business District or risk being sealed up. The Acting Director, Department of Development Control, Mr Garba Kwamkur, gave the warning when the department visited the popular Gana Street in Maitama on Tuesday. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has denied non remittance of N4.76 trillion to the federation account as claimed by the 2016 report of the Office of Auditor -General of the Federation (OAGF). Mr Umar Ajiya, NNPC Chief Financial Officer, said this when he appeared before Senate Committee on Public Accounts to defend queries raised by AOGF against the corporation. Umar said that the issue in question had to do with domestic crude that NNPC lifted to both refine and sell in exchange for refined products imported to the country.

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Thursday inaugurate the N16 billion newly-completed office complex of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) which work started in 1996. The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Godswill Akpabio, announced this while briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt on Tuesday. The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, on Tuesday said the ongoing projects being executed by the company would boost the national power grid by additional 4,000 Megawatts when completed. The acting Managing Director, TCN, Mr Sule Abdulaziz, said the company had acquired new office for its Project Implementation Units (PIUs) created to enhance the delivery of projects.
