Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto has said that marine travellers in the state will have to wear life jackets before they embark on their journeys in motor boats instead of dug-out canoes. An environmentalist, Dr Nnimmo Bassey, has urged oil firms in the Niger Delta to clean up polluted onshore sites before moving their activities offshore. President Muhammadu Buhari will launch the assets under the Integrated National Security and Waterways Protection, also known as the Deep Blue Project, in Lagos on June 10. Two people were killed on Friday in an auto crash involving a car and a truck in Zangoro village, along Bauchi- Maiduguri road, according to Mr Yusuf Abdullahi, the Sector Commander of FRSC in Bauchi. Abdullahi said that two others were also injured in the crash that occurred around 2pm.
