The finance ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) want to impose a price cap on Russian oil to prevent Moscow profiting from the effects of its war on Ukraine. A 160-carat white Type lla diamond was unearthed in Angola by Lucapa Diamond Company, the company announced on Friday. A press release posted on the company’s website said the 160-carat diamond is the sixth-largest recovered to date and the 28th diamond heavier than 100-carat recovered from the Lulo alluvial mine in Angola. Lulo is a 3,000 square kilometres concession in Angola’s Lunda Norte diamond heartland, approximately 630 kilometres east of capital city Luanda. The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (UNFAO) has reported that world food prices have fallen for a fifth consecutive month but are still nearly eight per cent higher than a year ago. FAO, in its latest Food Price Index published on Friday, showed that the prices of five commodities – cereals, vegetable oil, dairy, meat and sugar – were lower in August than in July.
