The World Health Organization (WHO) has commended the efforts of Bauchi State Government toward achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and Sustainable Development Goal 3.
A WHO official in the state, Mr Musa Muhammed, gave the commendation at the 2023 Productivity Award ceremony in Bauchi on Wednesday.
The activity is an annual event organised by the Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency (BASCHMA).
The WHO official, therefore, recognised nine staff of the agency, 20 primary healthcare facilities across the state and three general hospitals for the 2023 award.
Muhammed said that the international organisation would continue to support the agency in implementing the contributory health scheme.
The Coordinator, National Productivity Centre, Mr Tony Dada said such recommendations would motivate staff to deliver quality services.
According to Dada, reward in places of work strengthen staff productivity for the desired goal.
He, however, urged staff of the agency to strive harder in discharging their duties.
In his goodwill message, the Managing Director, Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency, Mr Abdulkadir Ahmed urged the state Ministry of Health to introduce such award within the 10 agencies and parastatals.
Ahmed said that the annual event would keep the various offices alert.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary, BASHCMA, Dr Mansur Dada said the awards were aimed at celebrating excellence.
He added that the annual event was to publicly recognise outstanding facilities and individuals in the implementation of the scheme to vulnerable persons across the 20 local government councils of the state.
