ASHENEWS reports that the Centre for Innovative and Pragmatic Development Initiative (CIPDI) says it is out to improve the immediate and future quality of life of young people through educational, recreational and cultural activities.
The Vice President in charge of Programs and Planning, Agatha Agu made this known in a statement issued at the end of a three-day summer camp held in Enugu between 7th September to 9th September, 2023.
The Summer camp had sessions on topics that most parents find difficult to discuss with their children, including drug abuse, cultism, safety awareness, building positive peers, goal setting and menstrual hygiene.
Agu, in the release, noted that the camp gave the children an opportunity to learn skills like Liquid soap and Disinfectant production.
The camp engaged and provided the participants an even platform to explore and express themselves.
Also, the participants were able to make new friends amidst lot of fun and learnt team spirit and how to be more confident.
“The participants truly immersed themselves in the activities and they had an amazing summer Camp even when it was just for three days, yet they learnt so much,” Agu said.
In his goodwill message to the children, the Founder of CIPDI, Mr. Ifeanyi Nwanoro, said his organization “firmly believes in the great potential inherent in Children” and, as such, has committed to empowering and nurturing young ones at an early stage of their lives.
He expressed CIPDI’s gratitude to all who contributed to the successful Summer Camp, especially to volunteers and coaches for their commitment to creating opportunities for our young people.
“We are grateful to Our Lady of Guadalupe Nursery and Primary School, GRA Enugu, under the supervision of Rev. Sr. Mabel, who provided her school facilities for the camp.
It is a partnership we won’t take for granted as we look forward to an amazing CIPDI Enugu 2024 Summer camp,” the statement added.
CIPDI is a non-profit organization that deploys customized innovative approaches to solve problems, build communities, create and develop platforms and tools for individuals to transform their lives, and communities.
“Our mission in CIPDI is to give people tools to become confident in themselves to innovate, create and lead.
We run programs like CYCLIP for young people and Learn and Earn Certificate program through Coursera for both young and old,” the statement concluded.
