Hundreds of protesters led by the Kano Civil Society Organisations, and Northwest Anticorruption Network, stormed the Government House to present a letter of protest to the state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf over alleged moves by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria to bribe the election tribunal judges in the state.
The leader of the coalition and Chairman of the Kano Civil Society Forum, Ambassador Ibrahim Waiya urged the state governor, to forward it to the letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Receiving the protesters, Governor Yusuf appreciated the peaceful manner of the protesters, assuring to forward their letter to Tinubu.
He said the president as an elder statesman would surely act on the letter
The Kano state Police Command, earlier on Monday, banned any form of protest in the state.
Meanwhile, the APC and the NNPP have been trading words over who is involved in the bribery allegation attempt.
