The Emir of Gwandu in Kebbi state, Muhammadu Iliyasu-Bashar on Saturday, said that collaboration of stakeholders in the education sector was critical to curbing the menace of out-of-school children.
Iliyasu-Bashar said this when a delegation from a Non-Governmental Organisation, TESS Foundation, paid him a courtesy visit at the Abdullahi Fodio Palace in Birnin Kebbi.
The Emir said that the collaboration would not only reduce the number of out-of-school children but would also aid in strengthening the education sector.
Iliyasu-Bashar commended the foundation for its efforts in uplifting the standard of education in Northern part of the country.
He assured the foundation of his readiness to extend necessary support and cooperation to achieve its set goals and objectives.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Abubakar Abdussalam told the Emir that they were in his palace to seek royal blessings and support to move the education sector forward.
He said the essence of the foundation was to provide assistance to students in the Northwestern states of Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara, to gain quality education.
