The Nasara Foundation, in collaboration with the Islamic Enlightenment Foundation of Nigeria, will organise a free cataract surgery outreach for patients with cataract-related eye conditions in Kebbi.
Mr Dauda Vanumu, Press Secretary to the wife of the Kebbi Governor, confirmed this in a statement issued to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.
The statement disclosed that the four-day medical outreach is scheduled for Saturday, August 8 to Tuesday, August 11, at the General Hospital, Koko in Koko-Besse Local Government Area of Kebbi.
“The four-day exercise will start at 9:00 a.m. daily,” it said.
According to the statement, the humanitarian initiative is being hosted by the Governor’s wife, Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, Founder and Chairperson of the Nasara Foundation, as part of her commitment to improving access to quality healthcare and restoring sight to indigent and vulnerable residents across the state.
“Members of the public, particularly individuals living with cataracts and other eligible eye conditions, are encouraged to take advantage of this free medical intervention by presenting themselves for screening and surgery during the outreach period,” it advised.
The statement further stated that the outreach underscored the Nasara Foundation’s continued commitment to complementing the efforts of the Kebbi State Government in delivering quality healthcare services.
It noted that the initiative formed part of broader humanitarian programmes designed to enhance the well-being and quality of life of the people of Kebbi.
The statement urged beneficiaries to arrive early for registration and screening to ensure smooth service delivery throughout the four-day period.
