The National Executive of the Enitonna High School Alumni Association is set to unveil the school’s Strategic Development Master Plan on May 3 in Port Harcourt.

The National President of the association, Dr. Godfrey Ohuabunwa, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

Ohuabunwa said the unveiling would take place at a Presidential Luncheon at the Enitonna High School Chapel, Borokiri.

He stated that the initiative reflects the alumni’s and stakeholders’ collective commitment to preserving the school’s heritage while preparing it for the future.

The president added that the master plan aims to reposition the institution for sustainable growth and global competitiveness.

Established in 1932, Enitonna High School is regarded as the oldest secondary school in the old Rivers/Bayelsa region, with a long-standing record of academic excellence and leadership.

Ohuabunwa explained that the master plan outlines key priorities, including infrastructure renewal, academic advancement, digital transformation, student welfare, institutional sustainability, and enhanced alumni engagement.

“This is more than the unveiling of a development plan. It is a reaffirmation of our commitment to the growth and long-term advancement of our alma mater,” he said.

The president noted that the school has produced generations of leaders and professionals, adding that it is the responsibility of the alumni to contribute meaningfully to its continued development.

He added that the event, themed “Uniting Our Past, Building Our Future,” would attract alumni, traditional rulers, community leaders, education stakeholders, and industry leaders from across the country and beyond.

The occasion will also feature the recognition of distinguished alumni who have contributed significantly to the school’s legacy.

The school was founded on May 2, 1932, by missionary and educationist, Rev. Lionel Randall Potts-Johnson.

Notable alumni include former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Austin Opara, and Sen. Mao Ohuabunwa, a former lawmaker and member of the ECOWAS Parliament.

The president described them as exemplifying the values of leadership, integrity, and excellence associated with the institution.
