However, the council placed moratoriums on admissions into law programmes in some institutions. These include Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo state, which faces a five-year suspension of admissions from the 2023/2024 to the 2027/2028 academic session, and Baze University, Abuja, where admissions have been halted for three years from the 2023/2024 to the 2025/2026 session.
Similarly, the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano state, was placed on a two-year moratorium on admissions into its law programme from the 2024/2025 to the 2025/2026 academic session.
The council said the publication of the list was intended to guide prospective law students and ensure that only accredited institutions offer legal education in the country. It urged the public to verify the accreditation status of universities before seeking admission into any law programme.
