The Kano State Health Trust Fund (KHETFUND) has handed over the construction of a health post in Bargi, Kiru Local Government Area, to a contractor to improve healthcare delivery.
This was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the KHETFUND Information Officer, Amina Lawan-Isah.
The statement said the project was formally handed over to the contractor, Sumaila Bello, by the Executive Secretary, Dr Fatima Zahradeen, who was represented by the Director of Administration and General Services, Abubakar Bala.
Zahradeen urged the contractor to execute the project professionally, adhere strictly to approved specifications and maintain quality throughout the construction process.
She described the handover as a significant milestone in the implementation of the fund’s intervention programme.
The executive secretary said KHETFUND remained committed to ensuring that all approved healthcare projects meet the required standards and are delivered for the benefit of residents.
She reaffirmed the fund’s commitment to addressing funding gaps in the healthcare sector and strengthening access to quality healthcare services across Kano State.
In his remarks, Bello expressed appreciation to KHETFUND for the confidence reposed in him and assured the fund and residents of Bargi of his commitment to delivering a high-quality project.
He said the project was scheduled for completion within three months but expressed confidence that, with community cooperation and support, construction could be completed in less than two months.
Bello appealed to residents to support the project and maintain a peaceful, conducive environment to ensure smooth execution.
He also urged the community to protect the facility and its equipment after completion.
The Head of the Department of Health in Kiru Local Government Area, Murtala Bello, welcomed the intervention and commended Zahradeen and Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf for their commitment to improving healthcare delivery across the state.
