The Chairman of the APC National Congress Committee for Sokoto State, Hon. Lawali Liman Kaura, has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the party’s Ward Congresses held across the 244 wards of the state on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
Kaura made the remarks after inspecting selected wards alongside the Committee Secretary, Zubairu Muhammad Lawal, where they monitored the exercise.
He commended party members for what he described as a high level of discipline, unity and orderliness throughout the congress.
According to him, the peaceful conduct of the exercise reflects the true meaning of the party’s symbol — the broom — which represents unity and collective strength.
“The conduct of our members today is a practical expression of unity. It shows that the APC in Sokoto State remains committed to internal democracy and cohesion,” he said.
The committee chairman urged party faithful to sustain the same spirit during the forthcoming Local Government Congresses scheduled for Saturday.
He also praised the leadership of the APC in Sokoto State for what he termed excellent planning and coordination, noting that the arrangements put in place contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of the ward congresses.
The APC Ward Congress is part of the party’s internal process to elect officials at the grassroots level ahead of subsequent congresses.
