Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has offered automatic employment to Miss Surayya Kabir, a First-Class graduate of the Department of Physics, Yobe State University (YSU), Damaturu.
The offer was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday in Damaturu by the Director-General, Press and Media Affairs, to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed.
According to the statement, Kabir has been appointed as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Physics at YSU.
Mohammed said the graduate recently presented her appointment letter to Governor Buni for his blessing and expressed gratitude for the honour extended to her and her family.
He stated that the governor congratulated Kabir on her outstanding academic achievement, describing her as a role model for girls across the state.
“You are an excellent ambassador of the girl-child education programme in the state. Others should emulate this remarkable feat,” Buni was quoted as saying.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the educational development of Yobe State, stressing that access to education would continue to be a priority.
“We will continue to ensure that no child in Yobe State is denied education because of his or her economic background,” the statement quoted the governor as saying.
Kabir graduated as the overall best student in her set with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.84, an academic record described as unmatched since the establishment of the department in 2006.
