A fresh Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists attack on the border community of Kerawa in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State has claimed the lives of four farmers. The incident occurred on Thursday between 12 and 1 pm while the farmers were working on their farms.
This attack comes nearly two months after multiple explosions in Gwoza town claimed the lives of over thirty people.
The incident was confirmed via telephone by Bukar Aji, the Councillor of Jimini Ward, and Yakubu Ali, the Chairman of the Kerawa Community Association.

Kerawa is a border town with Cameroon, situated near the Mandara Mountains, a known hideout for the terrorists.
When contacted by Channels Television, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Gwoza Division stated that he was unaware of the incident but promised to verify the report.
The DPO suggested that the attack might have occurred in Kerawa, Cameroon, rather than the Nigerian Kerawa, citing a similar incident a few weeks prior in Kerawa, Cameroon, which was mistaken by some for an attack on the Nigerian Kerawa.
Gwoza was previously declared the caliphate of the terrorists when it was captured in 2014, before being recaptured by the Nigerian military.
