Bandits have released Hauwa’u Adamu, the mother of renowned Hausa musician Dauda Adamu, popularly known as Rarara, who has regained freedom after 20 days in captivity.
The news of her freedom was confirmed by Rarara, on his verified Instagram handle on Wednesday morning.

While details of the 75-year-old mother’s release remain sketchy, unconfirmed reports said a multimillion naira was paid as ransom to her kidnappers.
ASHENEWS recalls that the bandits kidnapped Hauwa’u Adamu, on June 28, 2024 at her home in Kahutu village, Danja local government area, Katsina.
“The terrorists arrived on foot and quietly, without firing a single shot during the operation, which lasted only a few minutes.

“The woman did not resist when they asked her to come with them,” the source stated.
“Although there were other people in the house, the bandits only took Rarara’s mother, leaving the others behind. There was no attempt to confront the armed bandits,” a source had said.
Also, the Katsina State Police Command announced the arrest of two suspects in connection with the abduction of the mother of Hauwa’u on June 28.
“Today, Friday, June 28, 2024, at about 0130 hrs, information was received at the Danja Divisional Police Headquarters that some suspected kidnappers silently invaded the residence of one Hauwa’u Adamu, f, age 75 years, of Kahutu village, Danja LGA, Katsina State and kidnapped her.
“Upon receipt of the report, promptly, the DPO Danja led a team of operatives to the scene to arrest the culprits and rescue the victim unhurt.
“During the investigation, two suspects were arrested for questioning. Further development will be communicated in due course as the investigation proceeds,” a statement by the spokesperson of the Command, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu said.
Meanwhile, the Katsina State Police Command had earlier announced the arrest of two suspects linked to the abduction.
