ASHENEWS reports that the Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago has urged Muslims to sustain prayers for peace and prosperity in the country, as they mark the beginning of the Islamic year.

The Sokoto State Government has announced that Monday, July 8, 2024, equivalent to the 2nd of Al Muharram 1446 AH, will be a public holiday to celebrate the new Islamic year 1446 AH.
