The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) says its 80 officers and men have gone on trial for indulging in collection of illegal fees for the issuance of new passports and renewal of old ones.

Prof. Florence Obi, Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, has refunded an undisclosed amount of money illegally collected by some departments in the institution to 196 students.
