The University of Plymouth in the UK and the National Water Resources Institute (NWRI) in Kaduna,
have announced a new partnership to advance research on Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) in Nigeria and Ghana.
The Federal Government has stated that climate-smart agriculture will address the impact of climate change to ensure resilient food security.
“Development of drought-resistant seeds, precision irrigation systems, and early warning systems for extreme weather events are innovations that will enhance productivity, minimize crop loss and promote sustainable agriculture practices”, he said.
A Non-governmental organization (NGO), The International Centre for Environmental Health and Development (ICEHD), on Friday trained 100 women farmers on climate-smart agriculture.
