In the face of the raging insecurity in Nigeria, the federal government in collaboration with state governments (Nigerian governors) are considering the creation of state police. This was part of deliberations between President Bola Tinubu and state governors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday.

This is an unprecedented act, without any legal or ethical basis. It is also a violation of the principle of due process in public administration”
