President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Leo Stan Ekeh on his 70th birthday, describing him as a pioneering innovator in Nigeria’s information technology sector.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Presidential Spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday.
Tinubu recalled the inauguration of Zinox’s indigenous computer products in 2001, describing it as a groundbreaking moment for local technology production in Nigeria.
“Leo Stan Ekeh is one of Nigeria’s pioneering innovators in the information technology sector,” he said.
The President commended Ekeh for his contributions to manufacturing and the growth of the nation’s information technology ecosystem, adding that he had remained a pace-setter and dynamic industrialist.
He noted that the entrepreneur had continued to promote the Nigerian brand and create opportunities for young Nigerians through his investments.
“As he celebrates his Platinum Jubilee, I wish him good health and more years of groundbreaking accomplishments,” Tinubu said.
Tinubu played a key role at the 2001 inauguration of Zinox products in Lagos when he was the Governor of Lagos State. He graced the event at Eko Hotel and Conference Centre and endorsed indigenous technology production, describing it as a bold step for Nigeria’s economy.
Ekeh currently chairs the Zinox Group, which comprises Zinox Technologies, Task Systems, TD Africa, Konga, TD Mobile, and other companies.
