ASHENEWS reports that the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Minna Branch has advocated for the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) by its members.
The Chairman of the Society, Engr. Dr. Yerima Liman stated this while speaking with ASHENEWS shortly after the induction of over 480 engineering graduates of the Federal University of Technology, Minna as graduate members of the society.
“Engineering itself is synonymous with development and every area of development will require the use of AI.
“AI is being used by many people especially in the construction and manufacturing sector to cut the cost of production,” he said.
Yerima, who noted that AI can also be infused in solving real-world engineering problems stressed that a lot of economic prosperity depends on the ability of stakeholders to apply the use of such technology.
He added that the adoption of AI has also proven to help reduce employee costs.
He therefore encouraged the inductees to key into the development in their bid to contribute to addressing some of the problems in society.
