Telecommunications giant MTN Nigeria on Sunday hosted football fans in Ibadan at an exclusive English Premier League (EPL) watch party.
Fans watched Arsenal’s clash with Crystal Palace and other final-day EPL matches on giant screens.
The initiative was part of the company’s commitment to connecting with Nigerians through football and expanding its corporate social responsibility efforts.
The watch party aimed to bring the excitement of the EPL closer to supporters in a lively, communal atmosphere.
An Arsenal supporter, Mr Olagoke Ola, expressed delight at his team’s victory and praised their performance this season.
“We have waited 22 years for this dream. Arsenal fans should keep hope alive despite past mockery from rival supporters,” he said.
A Manchester United supporter, Mr Saheed Olagoke, admitted that Arsenal played impressive football throughout the season.
“Manchester United will bounce back next season because reforms are ongoing within the club,” he said.
The event featured prediction contests, with winners receiving MTN-branded souvenirs, broadband MiFi devices, and other prizes.
A winner, Mr Samuel Ayodele, praised MTN for creating opportunities for football lovers to socialise and enjoy memorable moments together.
Another winner, Miss Yemisi Ariwajoye, urged other companies to emulate MTN’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.
