The Guild of Professional Bloggers of Nigeria (GPBN) has elected a new executive council to lead the association for the next term, following a competitive election that drew participation from members across the country.
In the results announced after the vote, Damilare Bankole emerged as the new National President. Other newly elected officials include Mutiu Adesina Okediran as General Secretary, Angela Davies as National Treasurer, and Abiola Alaba Peters as Director of Communication.
At the handover ceremony, President Emeritus Chris Kehinde Nwandu (CKN) congratulated the new leaders and urged them to uphold the guild’s professional ethics while advancing the collective interests of members.
In his acceptance speech, Bankole thanked members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to prioritize member welfare, strengthen GPBN’s influence within Nigeria’s media landscape, and promote unity within the association. He also extended a hand of cooperation to former contenders, calling for collaboration as the new administration begins work.
Bankole said the guild is entering “a new chapter of growth, innovation, and strengthened professional standards” under the refreshed leadership team.
