Media Awards 2022: Nestlé Nigeria calls for entries

Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards aims to reward professionalism and excellence in reporting and storytelling around Nestlé’s focus areas comprising – Affordable Nutrition, Environmental Sustainability, Youth Empowerment, Women Empowerment, Engendering Thriving Communities, and Agriculture.

Participation is open to mainstream and online journalists from all over Nigeria. Entries must be published stories on Nestlé’s focus areas – Affordable Nutrition, Environmental Sustainability, Youth Empowerment, Women Empowerment, Engendering Thriving Communities, and Agriculture.

Entries must be published within the award year: January 1, 2022 to 06 November 2022.

Entries will be judged for originality, value addition, accuracy, balance, depth and focus on Nestlé’s areas of interest as outlined above.

The award ceremony is scheduled to hold on Saturday, December 3, 2022.

How to Enter

All entry materials must be original works published in mainstream or online platforms between January 1, 2022 to November 6, 2022 on the activities of Nestlé Nigeria PLC, Nestlé as a Company, or Business or Social Impact areas where Nestlé is mentioned as a stakeholder, partner or collaborator of interest.

The materials must cover one or more of the following subjects:  – Affordable Nutrition, Environmental Sustainability, Youth Empowerment, Women Empowerment, Engendering Thriving Communities, and Agriculture.

Materials submitted must include

  • 100 words vivid description of the entry
  • Links to the published works, (copies of print publications must be saved as PDFs in a folder and links included in entry)
  • Profile of the individual/organization in a minimum of 100 words
  • Materials can be articles, radio or TV reportage, photographs or infographics
  • A work can only be entered in one category. A series of photographs with captions (news or features) will be counted as one entry.

You can only enter one story/published work per category. Multiple entries in the same category by the same individual will lead to disqualification.

Categories

Best story on nutrition and affordable food solutions: Stories published by the journalist on either mainstream or online platforms between January 1, 2022 and November 6, 2022 on Nestlé’s activities to help ensure the availability and accessibility of quality nutrition solutions.

Best story on environmental sustainability: Stories published by the journalist on either mainstream or online platforms between January 1, 2022 and November 6, 2022 on Nestlé’s activities to help promote environmental sustainability.

Best story on youth empowerment and development: Stories published by the journalist on either mainstream or online platforms between January 1, 2022 to November 6, 2022 on Nestlé’s youth empowerment and development activities.

Best story on women empowerment: Stories published by the journalist on either mainstream or online platforms between January 1, 2022 and November 6, 2022 on Nestlé’s women empowerment activities.

Best story on community development: Stories published by the journalist on either mainstream or online platforms between January 1, 2022 and November 6, 2022 on Nestlé’s community development activities.

Best Story on Finance: Stories published by the journalist on either mainstream or online platforms between January 1, 2022 to November 6, 2022 relating to Nestlé’s financial results and stock market performance.

Best Story on Agriculture: Stories published by the journalist on either mainstream or online platforms between January 1, 2022 to November 6, 2022 relating to Nestlé’s activities in the Agriculture value chain.

Best Photojournalist Award: A photograph or series of photographs published on either mainstream or online platforms on any activity of Nestlé in Nigeria.  The photograph or series of photographs should relate to any of Nestlé’s focus areas – Affordable Nutrition, Environmental Sustainability, Youth Empowerment, Women Empowerment, Engendering Thriving Communities.  Photos and captions must have been published between January 1, 2022 and November 6, 2022.

Submitting a winning Entry:

Entries must be submitted strictly by clicking on the link https://forms.office.com/r/n0qYfuRShs and completing the form provided.

Please also provide at least 100 words information about yourself in the space provided.

Also provide a vivid description of your entry.

Submit ONLY ONE entry per CATEGORY

Each entry must be submitted separately in the case that the applicant has more than one entry (not in the same category).

Prizes

There will be three winners per category: 1st, 2nd and 3rd

First Position – A Samsung Tablet, Nestlé branded Notepad with pen and a recognition plaque.

First Runner-up – A Samsung Tablet, Nestlé branded Notepad with pen and a recognition plaque.

Second Runner-up – A Samsung Phone, Nestlé branded Notepad with pen and a recognition plaque.

The winners and each of the nominees will get a box of Nestlé products and a set of Oriamo free pods.

Mode of Entry

Entry form must be completed on or before 11:30 pm on Sunday November 6, 2022. Materials required include the links to the published works, a 100-word profile of the individual/organization, and 100-word background information on the entry.

Terms and conditions

You can only enter one story/published work per category. Multiple entries in the same category by the same individual will lead to disqualification.

Kindly attach links to entries, including supporting documents in the space provided in the link below on or before 11:30 pm on November 6, 2022.

A work can only be entered in one category.

Only works covering the following thematic areas are qualified for entry: Affordable Nutrition, Environmental Sustainability, Youth Empowerment, Women Empowerment, Engendering Thriving Communities, and Agriculture.

The organisation and judges reserve the right to disqualify any entry found not to meet the communicated criteria
