ASHENEWS reports that the Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris has assured citizens of the government’s commitment to improving their welfare.

Idris stated this when he received on a courtesy visit, the Emir of Zuru, retired Major General Muhammad Sani Sami, Gomo II alongside other stakeholders consisting of chiefdoms, traditional title holders, religious leaders, politicians, and top Government functionaries of the Emirate at Government House, Birnin Kebbi.

A statement issued on Tuesday by the Special Assistant to the Kebbi State Governor, Yahaya Sarki quoted the governor as saying “We will leave no stone unturned in changing the negative security narratives in parts of the state, especially Zuru Emirate.

”We will do everything within the powers and resources to ensure that the citizens of the state sleep with their two eyes closed,” he said.

He assured that the government will take all the measures needed to restore that lost glory and for the people to bounce back again.

”These measures include the deployment of more security personnel and more logistics to redress the ugly trend,”

Dr. Idris while assuring the people of his determination to accommodate all citizens said ” I have forgiven even those who have not voted for me and I will work for all.

”This is to ensure that we implement projects, policies, and programs in line with the actual yearnings and aspirations of the entire people of the state,* he said.

On his part, the Emir of Zuru, retired Major Genetal Muhammad Sani Sami, Gomo II commended the governor for a well-deserved victory.

”This well-earned victory is a testament to the tremendous love people of the state have for you and in your capability to diligently lead the state to greater heights,” he said.

Sami described the governor as a seasoned technocrat and frontline unionist at both Kebbi state and national levels.

”We have the belief that you will deploy your wealth of experience to ensure the equitable distribution of infrastructural development to all parts of the state,” he added.

The Emir further urged the governor to address the security challenges facing some parts of his Emirate and redress the problem of bad roads in the area.
