Kebbi state Governor, Nasir Idris recently received over 100 members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) along with some major stakeholders of the party to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Among those who decamped on Friday were Faruku Ajala, Bala Gradee, Garba Hassan Wara, Bello Shehu Kasaura, Umar Yaro Gari, and Umaru Kambaza.

Expressing his happiness over the development while receiving the new members at Government House Birnin Kebbi, Governor Idris assured them of equal opportunity and fair treatment within the party. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to justice and fairness in all political matters.

Idris highlighted the ongoing execution of various projects across the state and expressed his willingness to work harmoniously with all stakeholders to ensure quality service delivery and maintain accountability.

“You are living witnesses of the ongoing execution of projects across the state. I am always ready to join hands, ‘Insha-Allah,’ with all the stakeholders to make Kebbi great,” he assured.

He noted that the recent defections to the APC would add more momentum to the party, especially with the local government elections approaching. He encouraged the new members to be committed to the ideals and policies of the APC.

APC State Chairman, Abubakar Kana-Zuru, also welcomed the new members and assured them of fair treatment within the party.

He praised the new members for their wise decision, stating, “We are not going to leave you behind. The incumbent administration is doing a lot to better the lives of people in the state, as you are aware. APC remains a party for all, and we will do justice to all in line with principles of fair play. Our Governor has touched the lives of the people irrespective of party affiliation.”

Bunza, a former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works and one of the PDP stakeholders in Bunza Local Government, spoke on behalf of the decampees. He expressed that their decision to join the APC was made in the interest of their people and the state.

He commended Governor Nasir Idris for the various achievements recorded in the state within one year.

“The incumbent administration has brought a lot of changes in the state. This administration under the able leadership of His Excellency, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, must be commended for the various achievements recorded in the state in one year.

“We defected to APC from PDP because of the changes and infrastructural development in the state. Kebbi is for all of us, and we must support Governor Nasir Idris to do more for the state,” Bunza said.
