Niger State Governor, Umaru Mohammed Bago on Wednesday swore in the newly appointed secretary to the state government and four other members of his cabinet with a charge to commit to their respective assignments.
Others sworn in included the state Head of Service, Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, as well as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Deputy Governor.
“I want to congratulate the new grooms to my administration and congratulations in advance to the new brides. In tandem with our campaign promises, I want to say my administration is for the youth,” the governor stated.
Bago maintained that the appointees were ‘his choice’ and were chosen based on merit.
He stressed that his administration will go after only competent hands to help deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
He assured that subsequent appointments would include a good number of women, in the interest of equity and fairness.
Responding on behalf of other appointees, Abubakar Usman Gawu, who is the new SSG pledged to be loyal and supportive of the new administration to ensure its success.
