ASHENEWS reports that a former Head of State, Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar has commended Nigerlites for the peaceful conduct of the Governorship and State Assembly elections in the state.
Abubakar stated this shortly after he cast his vote at the 020 polling unit, Uphill water tank, in Minna, Niger State.
The former Head of State lauded residents for coming out en masse to vote in the polls.
He urged them to maintain the same ambiance even after the results are announced.
“I call on Nigerians to continue to have peaceful polls. If results are announced, if we are sure that there was no malpractice, let’s accept the results, ” he said.
Abubakar also urged the INEC to address the hitches identified earlier during the presidential elections.
