#NigeriaDecides2023: ASHENEWS reports that the leaderships of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have called for the resignation of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
Speaking during a joint press briefing on Tuesday, the parties passed a vote of no confidence on Yakubu, stating that he was biased in his conduct of the ongoing collation of results for the 2023 presidential elections.
The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure said “What we are doing now is what our members want and the yearnings of Nigerians. What we are doing is also due process.
“The cost will be high but that’s part of the sacrifices we need to make now. The cost of bad governance is higher than electing bad leaders.”
Similarly, the National Chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu said, “All those, who are supporting us across Nigeria will get justice. Democracy may sound very expensive, but it’s certainly not cheap. But if we think it’s expensive to try a dictatorship, you will see the cost.”
