Dangote Refinery has strengthened its position as Nigeria’s main fuel distribution hub following strategic moves to improve affordability and access to Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

The refinery recently cut the pump price of PMS to ₦699 per litre and reduced the minimum purchase volume from two million litres to 250,000 litres, opening the market to more marketers and easing nationwide distribution. A 10-day bank guarantee system has also been introduced to ensure an uninterrupted supply and boost confidence.

Since the changes, more than 1,000 trucks now load PMS daily from the refinery’s gantry, reflecting strong market confidence in its operations.

President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, said the measures were aimed at making fuel affordable and accessible to all Nigerians by empowering both large and small marketers and ensuring nationwide reach.

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has urged its members to patronise the refinery, describing it as the most affordable source of PMS. IPMAN also welcomed an agreement for direct supply to its registered members, alongside plans for free product delivery from January 2026.

IPMAN President, Abubakar Maigandi Shettima, said the association controls over 80 per cent of Nigeria’s PMS retail market and assured Nigerians of a steady supply with no risk of fuel scarcity.
